We've all been there before. Staring at that little cursor, which blinks so mockingly at you from the computer screen. Trying to come up with something -- anything -- you can type, even if it's total and utter crud.
This is... (cue scary music)
WRITER'S BLOCK!!!!
*starts screaming and slowly quiets down as I realize that no one else is screaming* Um, *coughcough*, yes.
I think we all know what Writer's Block is. No one is really sure what causes it, and the solution differs from person to person, but everyone can agree on one thing: It is annoying as HECK! Here are some common symptoms for Writer's Block:
1. You're stuck on the plot, characters, etc.
2. You know what to write next, but it just won't come out right.
3. Everything you write seems like it's not good enough to be toilet paper. (This one happens to me a lot!)
4. You would just rather watch TV than write.
If some of these things sound like what you're doing: You. Have. Writer's. Block.
Now, don't start freaking out and heading to the writer doctor (I wish!) just yet. Some of the solutions can be surprisingly easy!
1. Plan. Sometimes, you just need to outline a little and find out what's going to happen next in the story, or what makes your main character two-dimensional, or how you want to protagonist to defeat the antagonist...
2. Take a walk. Sometimes, you might need to take a break from your writing. Do something creative. Draw, sing, dance, watch a movie, go hang out with your friends.
3. Stop feeling so self-conscious. Who cares if your writing's bad?? You don't have to show it to anyone if you don't want to.
4. Just write. It doesn't matter if it's bad, good, whatever! Just sit your butt down and write.

So just follow some of the rules and your Writer's Block will be gone in no time.
I hope.
